RaboPlus in the community
Our team at RaboPlus, which includes our Customer Contact Centre, our Operations team, our Marketers and our Managers, got together and decided we wanted to do more.
We wanted to use the resources we had available to us to do more for our community and our environment. And we are lucky to work for a company that encourages its staff to participate in socially responsible activity while at work. So we have developed our own Corporate Social Responsibility programme to be launched soon.
We'll have a dedicated "RaboPlus in the community" area on our website very soon, and when it's available, we will advertise it in our newsletter "Positive Interest".

Rabobank in the community
Giving back to the community
Participation in Workplace Giving enables employees to donate directly from their pay to a range of charities with donations being matched by the bank. In 2008 almost $75,000 was donated through this program to a range of charities in Australia and New Zealand.
Donating work days
Community Leave provides every permanent Rabobank employee in Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to volunteer one working day annually with a non-profit organisation in their local community. Volunteering projects range from preparing and serving meals for the Salvation Army to selling merchandise to raise funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Community partners
The bank's social commitment underpins the belief that it has a corporate responsibility to support community initiatives. Rabobank's community partners have a positive and direct impact on community well-being, whether this be economic, social or environmental.
As a 'Friend of the RFDS', Rabobank is supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern section) to purchase two Beechcraft Super King aircraft. The 'Friends of the RFDS' was formed in 2005 to assist in raising capital funds for aircraft replacement.
The bank's partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (SE section) in Australia continues to gain momentum with many employees volunteering their time to help out at the organisation's annual open days.
Rabobank Young Rural Leaders Summit
Rabobank understands the importance of corporate Australia's role to help foster the development of tomorrow's leaders. The Rabobank Young Rural Leaders Summit is a joint initiative between the Country Education Foundation of Australia, Thyne Reid Foundation and Rabobank, that enables 35 young people from Rural Australia to participate in this annual leadership program.
The biggest morning tea event - Sydney 28 May 2009
On Thursday 28 May, Rabobank employees took time out to support Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, the annual fundraiser of Cancer Council Australia. Over 230 people from head office in Sydney came together to raise money and show their dedication to this charity, which is also one of the bank's official Workplace Giving partners.
Glenda Oxley, Executive Assistant to CEO, Bruce Dick said "It's always inspiring to see so many people get together for this great cause and even though times are tough, no-one hesitated to get involved. I think it's because cancer has touched so many lives, that people are driven to pitch in and help.
Proceeds from the Sydney head office morning tea, together with other morning teas held around our rural branch network totalled $6,411.85. Rabobank will match this dollar for dollar bringing the total to $12,823.70.
In addition, unused funds from Rabobank Social Clubs were also donated to help find a cure for cancer, with $7,226 going to the NSW Cancer Council.
